Intel Launches XEON Processor


Intel Corporation Introduced the Intel Xeon Processor E7 v2 family to help companies in a variety of industries from retail and healthcare to banking and transportation turn data into actionable insights, a statement said. Using analytics enable businesses to make decision that improve top-line and bottom-line results, it said. The Intel Xeon Processor E7 v2 family delivers new capabilities to process and analyse large, diverse amounts of data to unlock information that was previously inaccessible, it said. 
Big data and the internet of Things (loT) are providing enormous opportunities to several organizations to grow, as they create revenue generating services from the information they are able to derive, the statement said.

Microsoft Announces Global Launch of OneDrive free Cloud Data Storage


Microsoft has globally launched its free cloud-based data storage service OnDrive – formally known as SkyDrive. OneDrive gives people a place in the cloud to store photos, videos and documents that are accessible by various devices. It comes with updates and new features for windows Phone-iSO- And Android – based devices, as well as for the Xbox gaming console. OneDrive offers 7GB of free storage. “When someone picks up their phone, tablet or any other device, they just want all of their favorite photos and the documents they need at their fingertips – they don’t want to hunt for them,” said Chris Jones, corporate vice president for OS services at Microsoft. New features that accompany the availability of OneDrive include automatic camera back-up for Android  - making it, easier for users to get their photos from their Android Phone to their other devices – and video transcoding, “making videos as easy to store, view and share as photos”, said Redmond. OneDrive is free for users up to the first 7GB of storage. Customers also have the option to purchase storage in 50GB, 100GB and 200GB increments. Current customers will be able to use their existing SkyDrive credentials to access their files in OneDrive.

  • Sony Playstation4 Sales Top 5M Worldwide



Sony appeared to be winning the latest battle in a long-running videogame console war. The Japanese consumer electronics and entertainment titan announced that it has soled more than 5.4 Million Playstation4 (PS4) consoles since the new generation gaming system debuted in November of the last year. “I am thrilled that so many customers around the globe have continued to select PS4 as the best place to play throughout and beyond the holiday season,” Sony Computer Entertainment group chief Andrew House said in a release. “The PS4 system’s momentum just keeps growing stronger.” The PS4 is set for release in Japan on February 22, with sales on its own home turf expected to widen the lead over Xbox One. Microsoft said it sold a million Xbox One consoles in the day after its release and that figure reportedly-tripled by the start of this year. Microsoft has not released its latest Xbox One sales figures. Sony boasted that videogame industry sales data reported last week by NPD Group showed PS4 is far outselling Microsoft’s Xbox One consoles in the coveted US market. US videogame hardware sales surged in January, with PS4 consoles leading the charge, according to NPD figures. PS4 sales were nearly double that of Xbox One in the month, Sony said citing the NPD report. Membership in Playstation plus  Subscription service for games, films, and other digital entertainment has nearly doubled since the PS4 launched, according to Sony.
